Description

Looking back on my career, I can say that at the beginning I was not expected to be where I am now. Each stage - from university studies in materials science and engineering, doctoral research in metallurgical physics, and to industry work in cryogenics and quantum computing grew from opportunities, curiosity, and skills developed in the previous stages. My teachers, supervisors and colleagues aroused my interest in research work, and support from my family always encouraged me on this journey.
I enjoyed academic research in the laboratory of Engineering Materials in Aalto University (Espoo, Finland) during my PhD studies and Postdoctoral projects where I learned how to use different experimental equipment, from microscopes to high vacuum systems. I analyzed data and wrote scientific articles, but practical applications and industrial environment were always attractive for me. This brought me to cryogenic company, Bluefors, where my expertise in physics and materials science was beneficial. And then again unexpected turn happened – dilution refrigerators previously used mainly for research in physics became highly demanded for rapidly growing field of quantum computing, and it made me involved also in the field of quantum technology. I started working at Bluefors in Technical Support where I acquired strong technical expertise in cryogenic devices, and then I moved to Technical Sales, where I am working close to academic and industrial customers, helping them in getting necessary equipment and experimental setup for their scientific and technological needs.
