Description
Resonant scattering is central to atomic, molecular, and optical physics and provides a powerful tool for controlling interactions in ultracold quantum gases. In ultracold atomic systems, magnetically tunable Feshbach resonances enable precise control of the interaction strength. Building on our recent demonstration that periodic magnetic-field modulation Floquet-engineers additional Feshbach resonances in an ultracold quantum gas [1], we now further investigate how these resonances depend on the strength of the periodic drive. Numerical calculations reveal a characteristic Bessel-function scaling of the resonance strength depending on the modulation amplitude, where the Bessel order is set by the RF-photon order of the corresponding Floquet-Feshbach resonance. This prediction is supported by first experimental evidence, confirming the expected scaling behavior. The observed amplitude dependence enables selective enhancement or suppression of individual Floquet-Feshbach resonances. These results deepen our understanding of Floquet-engineered scattering resonances and establish a versatile tool for controlling interaction landscapes in driven quantum gases.
