Two-dimensional (2D) semiconducting materials provide a unique platform for studying strongly bound excitons and their interactions due to reduced dielectric screening and quantum confinement. By controlling layer composition, twist angle, applied electric field, and doping, both interlayer and intralayer excitons can be engineered.

We investigate gated MoSe2 monolayer and MoSe2-based heterostructure devices using photoluminescence and reflectance contrast spectroscopy. Through these measurements we probe how carrier density influences excitonic resonances and many-body interactions.
This work contributes to a deeper understanding of light-matter interactions in low-dimensional systems and supports the development of next-generation optoelectronic and quantum photonic devices based on 2D materials.
