Description
This talk explores entrepreneurship as a viable and rewarding career path for women in physics — one that's often underrepresented in traditional academic career narratives. Drawing on experience in quantum technology venture building , the talk will help attendees think about their own PhD work through a commercial lens: how to recognize when their research might have real-world applications, what questions to ask about market relevance, and how technical expertise built during a PhD can translate into founding a company. The session aims to demystify the transition from academia to entrepreneurship and encourage more women physicists to see their PhD work as a potential foundation for a startup & not just a dissertation.
