Description
Quantum-based approaches are emerging as a promising alternative for high-accuracy pressure metrology, offering direct SI traceability and the potential to reduce measurement uncertainties. This work presents the development and improvement of a Fabry–Perot refractometer as part of ongoing efforts to realize quantum-based pressure standards. The system was designed, assembled, and used to perform pressure measurements based on refractivity determinations at the National Metrology Institute of Germany “Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt” (PTB). Its performance was evaluated through comparisons with conventional pressure standards, providing an initial assessment of its measurement capabilities and consistency with established methods. The poster presents the current status of the refractometer, highlights initial measurement results, and outlines ongoing efforts to further improve its performance. The presented work contributes to ongoing developments within the recently launched “25IEM03 EQB-Pascal” project within the European Partnership on Metrology (EPM) program.
