Science Communication for Physicists – Presenting Research with Clarity and Confidence
Workshop, 28 September 2026, 9:00-12:00 hrs
Presenter: Dr Sabrina Patsch
Content and aim of the workshop
Effectively presenting research on stage is a central skill for today’s physicists, yet it is rarely part of formal academic training. This workshop focuses specifically on communicating scientific results in front of a live audience—whether in talks, science slams, or public events. Participants will learn how to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging narratives, use storytelling techniques, and deliver presentations with confidence and precision. While also introducing key formats of science communication, the emphasis lies on stage performance: structuring a compelling talk, adapting content to different audiences, and developing a personal communication style. The workshop further provides guidance on creating targeted content and building an individual communication strategy.
